There’s one employee at Integrity Saw & Tool who spends more time fighting fires while off the clock than on.
Ted Stuckart, who spearheads sales and business development at IST, also serves as a lieutenant fire fighter in Oneida County.
Which isn’t to say that Ted isn’t one fire when it comes to working with existing and prospective clients and distributors.
Read on to learn more about IST’s business development manager.
How long have you been with IST?
“One year.”
What did you do before you came to IST?
“I worked for a global company that manufactures strip and cut blades for the wire harness industry.”
Are you IST’s first business development manager?
“We had had a sales manager. When I came in, I took over that role and became the first business development manager because Integrity was looking to expand the business for its new state-of-the-art facility.”
What exactly does a business development manager do
“I’m responsible for the overall sales of the company, which includes managing the sales team, reaching out to potential customers and distributors, and building relationships.”
What does a typical day look like for you?
“A typical day begins with going to the office to catch up with email and then meeting with different customers and distributors as well as managing any issues that come up throughout the day. I travel about 80 percent of the time.
“Because I have 25 years in operations, I also occasionally work with the CNC manager to find ways to reduce costs.”
What is your favorite part of your job?
“Building relationships with the customers and always trying to be creative and set ourselves apart from the competition so that we can better serve our customers and distributors.”
What do you like best about working at IST specifically?
“The environment and the people I work with. We have a very qualified staff who are excellent at what they do. At the same time, it’s a relaxed atmosphere, so we have fun along the way.”
Do you have any nicknames (in the shop or outside of it)?
“My wife calls me Theo.”
What do you do in your free time?
“I’m part of the Oneida County Ambulance Advanced EMT team and a lieutenant on the fire department.”
What are you passionate about?
“My family and life in general. Everything I do, I try to give 100 percent. I’m really excited about what the futures holds for IST and my part in helping take the company to the next level.”
Are you married? Have any kids?
“My wife’s name is Linda. We have three children and two grandsons. We spend a lot of time with them.”
Any pets?
“A black lab named Beau.”
What is something almost nobody knows about you?
“I was the Deputy Medical Examiner in Oneida and Forest counties for five years.”
