As an account manager, Tyler Collien covers a lot of territory for Integrity Saw & Tool.
In fact, for many companies north of Fond du Lac — from smaller businesses to large corporations — he’s the face of IST.
Read on to learn how he serves IST’s customers and how he spends his time off the clock.
How long have you been with IST?
“I started in April 2015, so about two and a half years.”
What did you do before you came to IST?
“I worked for my family’s concrete construction business.”
What does an account manager do?
“Basically, I am the point of contact for many of our customers north of Highway 23, including Ripon, Wausau, Green Bay, Appleton and Manitowoc. I meet face to face with them, deliver the sharpened tools and take new orders.
“Going forward, we’re looking at having me work a little more in the shop and with new accounts alongside (Business Development Manager) Ted Stuckart.”
What does a typical day look like for you?
“Every day is a little different, but I start by coming into the office and catching up on email. Then I load up the van with the tools that are to be delivered for the day and make sure everything is good with the custom orders that came in the day before. I run the route, picking up and dropping off orders.
“It’s a lot of windshield time. I listen to just about any kind of music, but the songs play over and over, so I mostly I go with sports radio.”
What is your favorite part of your job?
“The relationships that I develop with the customers, for sure. I like being the person they go to when they have a question or concern or a need to place an order.”
What do you like best about working at IST specifically?
“The atmosphere is the key thing. What Paul has in place and the employees working here make it a fun place to work.”
What has been your greatest or favorite accomplishment since coming to IST?
“I enjoy strengthening relationships with our customers. There have been a handful of customers that I have personally helped and increased the business — even in just the past couple of weeks.”
Do you have any nicknames (in the shop or outside of it)?
“My uncle calls me T-Buck.”
What do you do in your free time?
“I have a lot of different hobbies. I enjoy watching college basketball, especially March Madness, golf and football. I’m a Packers fan…and if I weren’t, I wouldn’t admit it around here!”
What are you passionate about?
“My biggest passions are dirt bikes and snowmobiles. Those, along with golf, pretty much fill up my year.”
Are you married?
“I have a fiancée named Molly.”
Any pets?
“Three cats: Braap, Raji and Cobalt.”
What is something almost nobody knows about you?
“I used to be able to play the drums, but it’s been a while.”
